Springtime Updates

As springtime arrives, we are prepping for the busy summer ahead.  We are also enjoying the mild weather by tapping our maples trees.  The trees have started out slow but the sap has begun to flow better as late-March arrives.

Rex comes out to keep us company in the woods.  We look forward to fresh syrup, our supplies are running low!

Garden seeds have been started!

We are planning to have a number of large gardens that include pumpkins, squashes & corn.  We also will have our regular garden to manage which includes all the classics: tomatoes, onions, green beans, peas, potatoes....& more corn!

Turkey poult season!

We are hoping the Sweet Grass, Narragansett & Bourbon Red heritage turkey hens are going to be laying a nest soon.  We decided to keep these three from last year's poults.

The pigs have been enjoying the mild temps too.  Slumbering along their day, deep hay bedding works so nice!

The little piggies aren't so little anymore!

We have moved them from their farrowing house and in with the adult pigs.  They have adapted well and hang out very good together.

We hope your spring is starting off to a good start.  Goose Lake Farms wishes you a Happy Easter!
